After working with Pentoo , and sharing some ebuilds/bumping some forensic toys etc... , trying to bug bash. Anton Bolshakov <blshkv@pentoo.ch> to: develop@faert.net *********Defect Debian has , already patched... 20140608 at present Gentoo hasn't anyhow it's taken a bit of reserch and digging, I've been Looking for newer security ebuilds, found a few posibles let go in other layman repo's and worked to bump , anycase found this defect. https://code.google.com/p/pentoo/issues/detail?id=291 Reported by m...@michaellawrenceit.com, Sep 26 (3 days ago) guymager gui for xmount etc, Gui for forensic disk-imaging.... DESCRIPTION="Guymager is a fast and user friendly forensic imager." HOMEPAGE="http://guymager.sourceforge.net/" (ofanw3wm/Amnesiac) https://github.com/necrose99/Amnesiac/blob/master/app-forensics/guymager for now i did a test bump on guymager-0.5.7_beta1.ebuild guymager-0.7.3.ebuild but havent had a run at building it yet. (it would suck if the ebuild needs rebuilt totally.) hopefully it proves useful.... ZeroChaos/blshkv have R/W accesses to the repo , I'll likely drop the repo if it's taken. Yesterday (26 hours ago) Project Member #1 blshkv right, so your ebuild is totally broken. The upstream does not release an archive with the source code. Instead, they provide a compiled .deb file which seems require an outdated libewf (2010) and has an outdated API. It will conflict with other tools. So we need a totally new ebuild which would pull the source using a release TAG, an ebuild for "libguytools" and probably a patch to make it work with newer libewf API. Yesterday (26 hours ago) Project Member #2 blshkv It seems the source code and few minor patches are available via debian: https://packages.debian.org/jessie/guymager We can start from here Status: Accepted Owner: blshkv Today (4 hours ago) Project Member #3 blshkv Ok in the tree: https://code.google.com/p/pentoo/source/detail?r=6022 but the tool is broken. It fails to run here due to some kind of memory corruption. Today (52 minutes ago) Delete comment #4 m...@michaellawrenceit.com https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=754816 guy libs something is off on nested pro's had to cd into... Today (moments ago) Delete comment #5 m...@michaellawrenceit.com https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?pkg=guymager;dist=unstable so upstream issues... , but for build time, its /app-forensics/libewf its missing a patch.... I used Clean vm to mess with these, I was able to build almost all the guymager libs.... just qmake each damb pro irritating... I nearly got a full build on the newer guymager's however they required "***HOTWIRING***" headers , as their isn't code for Gentoo that aligns well, perhaps for a Debian box... , to place them in the folders for headers @ install time.... or cd corectly for header some need to use the set-ver sh and or opt for the alt-pro over the static pro... I'm pretty sure you haven't found the right bug tracker.
