This may not be a bug as such, but enabling native udev mode (i.e. disabling the tarball method) means that a lot of the DSP devices in /dev/sound are not created when the oss emulation module is loaded. For most users - this does not matter as only one DSP device will exist anyway. For those with SB Live/Audigy cards, and any others that provide duplex mixing - it is exceedingly irritating. There need to be multiple devices to enable hardware mixing (as opposed to ESD/arts style mixing) to take place. I do not know whether this can be worked around using rules or suchlike - the obvious thing to do is to enable the tarball again, but then - it should work without the tarball in my opinion. And enabling the tarball causes magical things like gnome-volume-manager not to work properly!
Hm, this shouldn't happen. What does /sys/class/sound/ show with these drivers loaded?
Hmmm - it seems to have fixed itself! If it happens again - i'll reopen the bug
