Currently, this firmwares are not maintained by anybody and, then, if some version bump or bug fixing is needed, they will likely lack them as opposed to people using linux-firmware package (that is actively maintained).

I would then treeclean them in favor of the linux-firmware package:
sys-firmware/iwl2030-ucode
sys-firmware/iwl5000-ucode
sys-firmware/iwl2000-ucode
sys-firmware/iwl5150-ucode
