Repro: 1) Install distcc 3.2_rc1 (needs to be unmasked) 2) Attempt to change the DISTCC_FALLBACK setting: distcc-config --set-env DISTCC_FALLBACK 0 3) Observe: an error message: /bin/sh: /usr/sbin/env-update: No such file or directory 4) source /etc/profile and check - DISTCC_FALLBACK has not been set to 0. 5) run env-update by hand 6) source /etc/profile and check - DISTCC_FALLBACK is set as expected That's pretty self explanatory; the file is in /usr/bin/env-update The bug may be in 3.1 (the current version) as well, I haven't checked.
Thanks, fixed in 3.2_rc1-r4 commit b64eb2f7af96867a39670527daa6aaaa37bc05e2 Author: Sergey Popov <pinkbyte@gentoo.org> Date: Thu Oct 22 18:14:39 2015 +0300 sys-devel/distcc: revision bump Distcc-config appears to be installed twice, which is wrong. Also, create separate subdirectory for config files and initscripts, related to 3.2 branch of package. Drop old revision. Gentoo-Bug: 523658 Package-Manager: portage-2.2.20
