what is your current gnome-panel version ? what is your 'emerge info' (always provide this, read the bugreport form carefully ).
OK, I lied actually. The error came from an emerge world, not emerge gnome. In the meantime, I have done a emerge gnome, and it run through. So I haven't got any preliminary information. Maybe it's best to close the bug ...
