Description aardvark 2004-05-25 12:18:09 UTC
A freshly built system and one recently updated to kde 3.2.2 don't seem to work with java any more. When I set java to use a console the console will freeze too (100% cpu load) and I can sometimes just see some messages about "Nappletholder" timing out. Java must be killed to get rid of it.
The flashing coffee bean in the java frame that shows while it's loading shows for a while then it freezes too (of cource)...

I hope this is something simple. I will try to grab the exact java console messages somehow.. Perhaps soembody can confirm non the less. My system is fully up to date in the normal stable fashion. (only blender 2.32 is installed in ~x86 mode)

BTW. This site does work with mozilla and deriviates, but does not work with either with opera. (QT??_)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Goto www.map24.com
2.Go further to a map of your choice
3.See the java app freeze in "interactive" map mode

Actual Results:
The Java froze. I have to kill it, sometimes even with -9

Expected Results:
just rund and produce great dynamic maps

The map works for me with Sun's JDK 1.4.2.04 and KDE 3.2.3. If it is still a problem for you, please have a look at http://bugs.kde.org/ and report it there, if no one did it before. This is an upstream issue and we don't have the man power to forward all of them, unless it's a critical one.

Maybe it's only a jdk compatibility issue, if you don't use Sun's jdk, I would try it.
