WRT: 10. Configuring the Bootloader 10.a. Making your Choice Optional: Framebuffer I know this sounds harsh, but really we should get rid of this section altogether. A few points: 1) The majority of users these days are using a video driver with KMS. This framebuffer section totally conflicts with what most users need. 2) The advice here suggests people "should" use uvesafb, when uvesafb is overly complicated AND requires special initramfs to work. *If* a generic framebuffer was needed, vesafb is just fine. 3) Genkernel does not enable uvesafb by default, as suggested in this document. It does enable vesafb, and grub2 (our default) will activate vesafb (by default) without special kernel params. All in all, I believe this section does more harm than good.
I agree; section removed.
