Please add "~amd64" to the KEYWORDS for x11-misc/xplanet (it's smarter and better looking than xearth) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.if it doesn't draw to your root window, try (assuming you've compiled it with jpg support) xplanet -output filename.jpg Portage 2.0.50-r6 (default-amd64-2004.0, gcc-3.3.3, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.6.5-gentoo-r1) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.5-gentoo-r1 x86_64 4 Gentoo Base System version 1.4.9 ccache version 2.3 [enabled] Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.58-r1 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -frename-registers -fomit-frame-pointer -mno-align-stringops" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -frename-registers -fomit-frame-pointer -mno-align-stringops" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache prelink sandbox sfperms userpriv usersandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://mirror.pacific.net.au/linux/Gentoo" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X aalib alsa amd64 apm arts avi berkdb bonobo crypt dvd encode esd foomaticdb gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 gtkhtml imlib jpeg libg++ libwww mikmod motif mozilla mozillanoirc mozillanomail mpeg multilib ncurses nls nogcj oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python quicktime readline sdl slang spell ssl tcltk tcpd truetype ttfont xinerama xml2 xmms xv zlib"
I can confirm that xplanet-1.0.3 works beautifully on my AMD64 in 64-bit mode (stand alone and with xscreensaver, if xscreensaver is configured to use the proper, new command line arguments). Please consider adding ~amd64 to the ebuild. :-)
In CVS now, thanks!
version 1.08 works fine for me as well (this bug was first entered at 1.03). i'm not sure whether i should have started a new bug...
Done. 1.0.8 marked ~amd64.
