The current mplayer-1.0_pre4-r2.ebuild uses the check-kernel eclass.
This eclass does not know about the koutput features in newer kernels, this can be fixed by using the kmod.eclass and changing a few variable names... 

Will attach ebuild patch in a moment.

Thanks. It would be a good idea to add a comment to check-kernel.eclass if it is deprecated. I'm trying to use this koutput stuff, but I still have some problems... will revisit this on wednesday, I think.
