# MATSUU Takuto <matsuu@gentoo.org> (27 Oct 2011) # Mask for testing >=sys-devel/distcc-3.2_rc1 This package.mask entry has been in place for a long time. Can you remove it and either let the affected versions go to ~arch or remove them if they are broken? Thanks, William
Non-maintainer opinion: I use distcc 3.2(i need proper ipv6 support, which current ~arch lacks) for a couple of monthes and i do not find any problems to keep this package in masked state.
3.2 supports the DISTCC_IO_TIMEOUT option, 3.1 does not; without this option distcc fails to build llvm; it times out compiling Function.cpp, see: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=523392 3.2 has a 'crossdev' use flag that causes the install script to find the crossdev compilers and produces masquerades for them. It seems to work correctly (ARM client -> x86 server). I've verified use with 'crossdev -gnome' (gee, I don't want to have to build all that gnome support on an embedded system). This is armv6j distributing to 64-bit x86 and using DISTCC_IO_TIMEOUT=600 and DISTCC_FALLBACK=0
I removed the mask due to requests on irc and the positive responses on this bug.
