docs problem, leonardop or obz should have a look.
It seems like you're missing the catalog for Docbook 3.0's DTD. Please follow the directions given on bug #49838 in order to emerge docbook-sgml-dtd-3, then try to emerge libgnomecanvas again, and tell us what happens. By the way, please attach your emerge logs as text/plain. Thanks.
Have the same problem now for libgnomecanvas-2.6.1.1. Remerged docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2 and 4.2 ... bow the build completes ...
You can update docbook-xml-dtd and docbook-xsl-stylesheets further now, the updated versions have the newest build-docbook-catalog script.
Just as final note: I had already the new versions of docbook-xml-dtd and the build-docbook script, because of this http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56817, but that did not help for libgnomecanvas. Onle the reemerge of the older docbook versions did the trick for this package ... ?!?
