xorg-x11 seems to be much more stable when using the Radeon 3D drivers on ppc. I've had this verified by several users. If no known problems exist with xorg-x11 at the time of the 2004.2 release maybe we should mask it stable and put it on the LiveCD.
Hi xfree team, I would like to put xorg-x11 on the kde/gnome cd for 2004.2 and include it as default for 2004.2. On a scale from 1 to 10, how crazy would that be? Best regards, Pieter Van den Abeele
Probably like a 2 or 3 at the most. If 10 is like seemant-on-a-binge crazy. I can't speak for ppc, but x86 xorg-x11 seems fine for me.
There are a couple of issues I still need to resolve, one with the keyboard map win key issue and the other with opengl-update. Once those are fixed, the rest should be mostly ready. I hope to get them fixed within the next two days.
Any news?
Yes, actually, I committed the last changes necessary a couple of days ago as I was working with the sparc team. This bug slipped my mind. Thanks for the reminder. From my standpoint, things are mostly good to go as far as stablizing xorg, except opengl-update-1.7 was only added three days ago. Also take a look at blockers to http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45610.
