Description Brady Dean 2014-07-31 01:59:26 UTC
This is an odd bug. Dhcpcd is installing and it gets stuck in a loop type deal. Unfortunately I cannot show any build log since there isn't one and plus this is on a new Gentoo installation on my laptop. I can however show a (crappy) picture.

It basically outputs the same text over and over and over. I don't know much about scripts and stuff but "< .depend" doesn't look right. I think it would be "> .depend" but I wouldn't know.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install/update dhcpcd
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Gets stuck in a loop

Expected Results:
Install correctly

Installing from chroot inside installation media. Shouldn't affect anything though.

this is unusable. press ^C (several times if necessary) and find a way to attach the build.log.

oh, but first, make sure it's reproducible (preferably with new stage3 + sync, even better with new installation media).
Comment 2 Brady Dean 2014-07-31 02:27:05 UTC
I've tried to ^C. It just deleted the .depend and doesn't produce a build.log
It's version 6.4.3

The crappy screenshot says this:

File 'Makefile.inc' has modification time in the future.

Your system clock is probably set incorrectly. Fix it by running the date command.

yeah, that'll be it.
