Jon: can you take a look at this one... you might want to just ask the devs upstream, it looks like it's probably a common bug (and might be fixed in a more recent beta release if there is one)...
these compilation errors are introduced by newer gcc (>=3.3); I've made a patchkit this weekend to fix these errors which is currently in test on my machines.
Created a patch to make rezound compatible with the more strict checking of gcc3.3+ Committed to CVS as rezound-0.9.0_beta-r1 Heiko, can you verify that it now works for you? thanks, Frank.

hmmm... what version of sys-devel/autotext is installed?
hellap root # emerge -s autotext Searching... [ Results for search key : autotext ] [ Applications found : 0 ] there is no such package in my portage??
Sorry, my fault... it should have read sys-dev/gettext on my box: * sys-devel/gettext Latest version available: 0.12.1-r1 Latest version installed: 0.12.1-r1 Size of downloaded files: 5,592 kB Homepage: http://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/gettext.html Description: GNU locale utilities License: GPL-2 the one of the install scripts for rezound makes use of the autopoint utility from gettext, which in it's turn invokes cvs (which it in fact doesn't really need to). I created a bug for the gettext people to have a look at it. Can you check which version you have installed? Thanks. ps: if you're anxious to get rezound up&running, you can cheat by emerging cvs :-)
Hmmm ... I tried that new ebuilt for -r1. It emerges a new version of the Fox libs. And then it tells me that I don't have that version installed?!? configure: enabling LADSPA support by default checking for FXApp class in -lFOX-1.2... no checking for FXApp class in -lFOX... no configure: error: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ !!!!! Fatal Error: libFOX missing, broken or outdated !!!!! My test couldn't find the class FXApp in libFOX If you don't have FOX, or need a more recent version, download the latest version at: http://fox-toolkit.org If you have FOX installed and the linker couldn't find it, you can specify the path by passing --with-FOX-path=/path/to/FOX to configure. You may also have to pass the FOX header path with the --with-FOX-include= option. Setting these flags overrides the library test. If you have FOX and you believe it is up to date, you can override this check by passing --disable-FOX-check as an option to configure. specifying --with-FOX-path or --with-FOX-include will override the test for libFOX If you believe this error message is a result of a bug in the configure script, please report the bug to the Package Maintainers. See docs/INSTALL for information on submitting bug-reports. When submitting a bug report about this issue, please choose: "... Compile/Configure Issue" as the category of the bug. Also, it would really help me if you include a screendump or script file of the error, see script(1) man page for info on how to record a script file. See config.log for compiler input and output. I eventually came to testing it yesterday on unstable and yes it works fine. Will try on stable during the day. Perhaps i can reproduce the problem.

okay .... I did some stuff trying to get MLDonkey to upgrade ... then I've tried re-merging libFOX again and now rezound 0.9 is compiling?? this time switched to ~x86 ... weird but it's working now...
Herald, I'm affraid it is not easy to diagnose build errors on a mixed stable+testing installation; especially since there are dependencies to unstable packages involved here. I'm glad to hear that it's working now for you. Heiko, is it OK to close this bug since you verified that it runs ok on ~x86?
Well as the package is broken on stable, maybe it would be better to ~x86 it?
I know mixing stable/unstable isn't the best thing to do. But on the other hand ... I'm only using a few unstable packages and I haven't really found anything going wrong so far.
Just as an FYI, I don't have any unstable packages, and Rezound fails to compile for me also, not finding libFOX.
jsado_sc3, what version of rezound and libfox are you having trouble with? Please not that this specific bug deals with rezound-0.9.0_beta which is superseded by rezound-0.10.0_beta and rezound-0.11.1_beta. If you're experiencing issues with one of these newer versions please add your comments to a bug entry with relevant topic (or create a new one). Rezound-0.9.0_beta is not in portage anymore.
I'm using rezound 0.9.0_beta. I'll emerge sync and grab the latest.
Closing this bug since the ebuild is superseded by rezound-0.10.0_beta and rezound-0.11.1_beta.
