Hi, I have made a gentoo source mirror. Can you add it to the list of official gentoo.org mirrors Server is located in Serbia and Montenegro/Belgrade It is full gentoo source mirror. urls are: http://mirror.etf.bg.ac.yu/gentoo and ftp://mirror.etf.bg.ac.yu/gentoo Also there is a rsync mirror (rsync://mirror.etf.bg.ac.yu) (i have fill bug report but no one contacted me.) Regards, Ljubisa
I was unable to connect to this source mirror to verify the timestamp. Please make sure the appropriate daemons are running, and then I'd be happy to add you into our mirror rotation. Thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! For Infrastructure, Jeffrey
sorry about that, we had a power shutdown almost all day today (resheduled replacement of the power distribution board in our server room) and we had only the infrastructure services up. Now we are back online with full power, so please check it again. Sincerely yours, Ljubisa Radivojevic
Just to remind you :). Our mirror now works but still it is not in official gentoo mirror list. Regards, Ljubisa
The timestamp is off by a day or so. You should be sycning per our distfiles mirror instructions every 4 hours off of your local midnight. I will continue to monitor your mirror and add it into the listing once the timestamps are on track. Thanks! -Jeffrey
I don't know what is wrong because I sync every 30 minutes portage and every one hour distfiles and it runs from cron: 0,30 * * * * /usr/local/bin/gentoorsyncmirror 51 * * * * /usr/local/bin/mirror gentoodistmirror for portage mirror I use rsync://rsync.de.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage and for distfiles ftp.ussg.iu.edu::gentoo-distfiles /mirrors/ftp/pub/gentoo Also for portage I use you script and for distfiles this command rsync -az --quiet --delete ftp.ussg.iu.edu::gentoo-distfiles /mirrors/ftp/pub/gentoo I've compared timestamps: portage timestamps: mirror metadata # cat timestamp*;date "+%s %c %Z" Thu Jun 3 17:11:04 UTC 2004 Thu, 03 Jun 2004 17:20:00 +0000 1086282660 Thu Jun 3 17:11:00 2004 UTC 1086287278 Thu Jun 3 20:27:58 2004 CEST and distfiles timestamps looks ok too: mirror distfiles # cat timestamp*;date "+%s %c %Z" Wed, 02 Jun 2004 20:06:58 +0000 1086206818 Wed Jun 2 20:06:58 2004 UTC 1086287362 Thu Jun 3 20:29:22 2004 CEST any ideas? :) also witch rsync host should I use? Regards, Ljubisa
Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added your mirror to our list at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml. Please start synching from ftp.oregonstate.edu as the email I have sent to you instructs. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors-subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send out notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Once again, thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! For Infrastructure, Jeffrey
