I've got my own way of starting and managing mythfrontend; I don't use the wrapper script shipped in the ebuild and end up have to either copy the ebuild to a local overlay to remove that piece or do cleanup after the install.

Any chance of making the wrapper install optional with a use flag, or maybe bundle it into the autostart use flag or something?

fixed in cvs with the wrapper USE flag (set by default)
