Description Christian Axelsson 2002-07-17 15:37:43 UTC
When emerging postgresql (7.2.1-r1) all goes well until the init of database part.
It creates all directorys, the template and configuration files. Then it fails
at "initializing pg_shadow..."
Error is at follows: "/usr/bin/initdb: cannot create temp file for here
document: Permission denied"

Christian: Is this still an issue?
Comment 2 Christian Axelsson 2002-08-07 09:49:43 UTC
As far as I know it still is an issue.
I haven't got any system to try out on.

try a rm -rf /var/lib/postgresql
and the remerge.... Careful, this will probably hose your databases if they are
there.
