Removing it from the ebuild solved my issue and I was able to build. This patch does not seem to exist in the main tree.
1) Please post your `emerge --info' output in a comment. 2) Please attach the entire build log to this bug report.
Unfortunately I don't have the build log - I fixed the issue yesterday and did not keep it. Fixed, thanks for the report!
I just had this problem too – how can I overcome this? (gentoo newbie, sorry)
(In reply to thomas.mitterfellner from comment #5) > I just had this problem too – how can I overcome this? (gentoo newbie, sorry) Maybe 'emerge --sync' again will help - I forgot to push immediately after the commit, but it's done now. Sorry for the inconvenience!
I cannot run emerge, there's a problem with python: !!! Failed to complete python imports. These are internal modules for !!! python and failure here indicates that you have a problem with python !!! itself and thus portage is not able to continue processing. !!! You might consider starting python with verbose flags to see what has !!! gone wrong. Here is the information we got for this exception: No module named _collections Traceback (most recent call last): File "/work/gentoo/usr/bin/emerge", line 42, in <module> import portage File "/work/gentoo/usr/lib/portage/pym/portage/__init__.py", line 27, in <module> import shutil File "/work/gentoo/usr/lib/python2.7/shutil.py", line 12, in <module> import collections File "/work/gentoo/usr/lib/python2.7/collections.py", line 8, in <module> from _collections import deque, defaultdict ImportError: No module named _collections Do I have to remove my prefix and run the whole bootstrapping process again, or is there some way to fix the aix stuff manually?
(In reply to thomas.mitterfellner from comment #7) > I cannot run emerge, there's a problem with python: Doesn't feel like directly related to this bug. What did you do before it broke? > Do I have to remove my prefix and run the whole bootstrapping process again, > or is there some way to fix the aix stuff manually? So you do run your Prefix on AIX? Cool! Which AIX version btw? > File "/work/gentoo/usr/lib/python2.7/collections.py", line 8, in <module> > from _collections import deque, defaultdict > ImportError: No module named _collections What are the last few lines of this command: $ truss -t kopen /work/gentoo/usr/bin/python2.7 -c 'import _collections'
Confirmed, issue is gone on my systems.
