Description François Bissey 2004-05-20 19:50:25 UTC
When I do "emerge -puD world" I get the following:

bash-2.05b$ emerge -puD world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies /
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "media-libs/taglib" have been masked.
!!! possible candidates are:
- media-libs/taglib-1.0 (masked by: ~keyword)
- media-libs/taglib-1.1 (masked by: ~keyword)
!!! (dependency required by "kde-base/kdemultimedia-3.2.0" [ebuild])

!!! Problem with ebuild kde-base/kde-3.2.0
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.

!!! Depgraph creation failed.

My actual version of taglib is 1.0_beta2. The problem is that this version
has been removed from portage while there is no other version available in
the ppc tree, only in the ~ppc one.

It probably means that you know have to use ~ppc if you want to emerge
kde on a new system.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -puD world
Actual Results:
I got the message quoted above.

That problem has been solved quite a while ago now, this bug should be
closed.

Thanks for your information, although we didn't helped you much. Closing as you wish.
