The user didn't respond to my info requests, so I'll mark that as a duplicate
of this instead and ask you :-)

Please give me the config.log from the failed emerge.
Comment 4 Dan Armak (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-29 09:06:31 UTC
Please give me the config.log or tell me if the bug has gone away. I hope it
hasn't though because there's no fix and I want to find one.
Comment 5 Ryan Phillips (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-07-29 16:51:05 UTC
The bug appears to have gone away... I reinstalled with a 1.2 CD with a native
gcc 3.1 install... The merge of alpha-1 installed fine...

Maybe it was an issue with an upgrade of gcc. I'm not sure.
Comment 6 Hannes Mehnert (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-08-31 04:17:52 UTC
I had the same problem, imake is provided by <=openmotif-2.1.30 and xfree. If you install the imake from openmotif, it does not work. There is a newer openmotif (2.2.2-r1) which does not install imake. Emerge that and it works. Changed status to resolved.
