The 1.7 mainline is in the tree, but the 1.6 stable (release-line?) is not yet there.

Hi. As of 1.7 we will only provide the latest upstream recommended series (also called mainline). For people looking for older ebuilds, we've set up an overlay. You can read more here: https://github.com/gentoo/nginx-overlay.

This overlay will hopefully be available through layman shortly.

Even if you don't agree to our reasoning, we unfortunately won't add older versions. There were a few technical arguments (avoiding slot:ing for one) which together with upstream recommendation motivated our decision.
