Description Tristram Chapman 2004-05-18 04:21:46 UTC
hey
after installing gaim i set it up, and tried to install with my default msn account (@dodo.com.au). with other clients this account works, so i know it isn't the account. i tested gaim with my old hotmail account and it connects fine and runs like normal, so i assume that gaim has issues with non-hotmail accounts. i get "i/o error" when i try to connect with my dodo account, or "x-malformed " or authentication failed (and i know the username/pass is correct), if someone could please check this out, it would really help us alot :)

Thanks,
     Shiven

Build with debug and provide the debug output of the MSN login attempt.

Also this may apply to you, if you are seeing "911" in the debug output:

Tristam is this still an issue for you?
Comment 4 Tristram Chapman 2004-05-28 18:26:52 UTC
it stopped happening when i recompiled with debug, although very unstable. thanks :)

OK I'm going to resolve this as "works for me" then. FYI gaim-0.78 is now in portage.
