Rebuild app-emulation/vmware-modules-279.2, after 3.12.21-gentoo-r1 upgrade.

The vmblock, vmci, vmmon, vmnet and vsock do not recompile with ebuild, because patch fails on vmblock-only/linux/inode.c

Please attach separate text files next time.
Comment 4 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-06-10 22:16:51 UTC
That's not something we can fix:

/etc/portage/patches//app-emulation/vmware-modules/vmware-3.11.patch
Comment 5 Nicholas Van Wyen 2014-06-10 22:20:36 UTC
Sorry, I'll make sure to attached the files separately next time. Where do I submit a broken ebuild, if not here?

Comment 6 Jouni Kosonen 2014-06-11 07:05:51 UTC
Patches under /etc/portage/patches/ are not from the tree, they are local additions. Like the log says:

> * Applying user patches from /etc/portage/patches//app-emulation/vmware-modules

Patches relating to readdir from kernel version 3.11 onwards and to vfs_follow_link from kernel version 3.12 onwards were added to the tree without version bump on Jun 07, so you should just remove the local copies of those patches from /etc/portage/patches and try again.

This is excellent information, thank you. That has resolved the issue.
