I think the qt4 USE of transmission miss some dependence! I just does not work and gui is different from what you except. For example you don't get a file manager pick for destionation of files. Reproducible: Always I've got a default profile, not the desktop one. So maybe is some general USE that miss and let it does not work.

Output of `qlist -CIv qt` to get a sense what version of Qt4 is installed. Screenshots as attachments from the failure? And have you tested 2.83 yet? If not, try it, there is no point in testing 2.82 anymore.
