In order to be able to use the alsaconf setup script from the alsa-utils package, dialog is required but it is not listed as a requirement or even a suggestion. The obvious result being that alsaconf fails every time until dialog is installed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. On a system without dialog, emerge alsa-utils. 2. Run alsaconf. Actual Results: alsaconf fails with an error message regarding whiptail/dialog. Expected Results: The alsa-utils ebuild should require the dialog package to be installed in order to ensure the usability of the components included in the package.
