Please attach dmesg, Xorg.0.log and state which version(s) of xf86-video-intel this bug occurs with. Also it might be good to try switching between UXA, SNA and glamor and see if that makes a difference.
Created attachment 378316 [details] Xorg log

Since the OP hasn't yet, I'll chime in: Running x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.99.911-r1. I've w/ sna. I've tried also with glamor+uxa but the results were the same. Interestingly enough, I tried to make a screencast of this event, moving my mouse pointer over an area (in GNOME). When I play the video back, I do not see the flickering. However, when I move my *real* mouse pointer over the *video* of the area while it's playing, then the actual mouse flickers. Even more interestingly, this does not occur if the video is paused, only while it's running. I'm using the Oxygen Black[1] cursor in GNOME. It would be good if you can open a bug report upstream at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ (if no report already exists) and provide the link here.
Also try xorg-server-1.15.99.903
(In reply to Chí-Thanh Christopher Nguyễn from comment #7) > Also try xorg-server-1.15.99.903 I've been playing around with 1.15.99.903 (Strawberry Shortcake) for a few hours and it looks like, for me anyway, the issue is resolved. Thanks.
