Hi! Please find attaced nss-mysql.tar.gz containing nss-mysql-0.40.ebuild and a sample file of sql I named gentoo.sql that "ebuild nss-mysql-0.40.ebuild config" may utilitize in order to set up mysql with aproperiate tables and privileges. I suggest that the package is placed in sys- libs/nss-mysql More info on nss_mysql can be found at http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/nss-mysql I look forward to see this ebuild in Portage :) All the best, Christian Skarby Interhost ANS, Norway - www.interhost.no
Created attachment 2302 [details] ebuild and files-diretory - a sugestion for nss-mysql Without this attachment there would never be a decent #5110

I see that Asbjørn Sannes has opened a tread on gentoo-dev about where to place packages simillar to sys-libs/nss-db, net-libs/nss_ldap, net-libs/pam_ldap and app-crpt/pam_krb5. <url: http://lists.gentoo.org/pipermail/gentoo-dev/2002-July/013618.html > I find that nss- mysql groups naturally together with these packages. I support his sugestion about making a "lib- auth"-category (which were my favourite of his examples.) If one consider not to make such a category I still find that sys-libs is closer than net-libs, which holds nss_ldap. Christian
Christian: is it ok if I modify the ebuild's header to include the standard header found in the skeleton files?
Ryan: I believe you'd like to do this // Diff /* 1c1 < # Copyright 2002 Interhost ANS, Norway - www.interhost.no --- > # Copyright 1999-2002 Gentoo Technologies, Inc. */ that is ok for me, but we still like to be mentioned, hopefully on the third line of the ebuild (in ebuild-files we have written.) Interhost intend to keep an eye on nss-mysql and submit new ebuilds shortly after new versions are released from the developers. Christian
not a problem... committed
