Description FTP maintainer at Belnet.be 2004-05-14 07:06:46 UTC
Hello,

we are Belnet, the Belgian research and education network. Currently, we
are hosting a gentoo portage mirror on our ftp server. We are in the
middle of an upgrade for this machine and have rolled out a new machine
which will take over all the tasks of the old ftp server.

For a seamless upgrade, I would like to ask you if it would be possible
to grant access from two machines during some time, so we can keep both
mirror's (the current and the new one) in sync. Once the upgrade has
been completed, I'll mail you again so that you can remove the old
machine of the list of "allowed" machines.

If this is no problem to you, please add the machine "niue.belnet.be,
193.190.198.20" to the list of allowed machines for rsync to
rsync1.us.gentoo.com.

Please do not yet remove the old machine "dalet.belnet.be,
193.190.198.19" from the list.

Thanks in advance,
Bernard Grymonpon

Added 193.190.198.20. Let us know when the switch is complete.

Thanks.

Is there an estimated time for completion?

Thanks,
Pete.

Hello Pete,

The swap is done and everything is stable. You can remove access from 193.190.198.19.

You can also add 193.190.198.20 to the eu.rsync.gentoo.org pool if you want to.

Thanks and best regards,

Antoine.

Updated DNS, and removed .19 from the access list.

Thanks.
