I was following the Desktop Configuration Guide, and did the requested 'emerge kde-base/kde'. The installation failed on the lcms with a vague error message about the .ebuild script. After poking around on the net and in the .ebuild script, I stumbled upon a workaround by manually installing 'emerge jpeg tiff zlib'. Afterwords, lcms continued to build.
you know, a few more details would've been nice for this. can you at least show us the resource on the net which had the workaround?
Sorry, I wasn't clear. There were no resources on the net. I just guessed that it was a dependency problem. I should of kept better records, but I wasn't actually anticipating on finding a workaround, or reporting the bug for that matter.
do you have "tiff" and "jpeg" in your USE settings? Because tiff, jpeg and zlib get pulled in atuomatically if you do.
