Description Peter Asplund 2014-04-28 20:20:35 UTC
Universal Media Server is a DLNA-compliant UPnP Media Server

Universal Media Server supports all major operating systems, with versions for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

The program streams or transcodes many different media formats with little or no configuration.

UMS is powered by MEncoder, FFmpeg, tsMuxeR, AviSynth, MediaInfo and more, which combine to offer support for a wide range of media formats

Reproducible: Always

I have made an ebuild for this package for my personal overlay. It is running without issue on my Pine64 running arm64 gentoo /w the oracle JDK for arm64 running it.

I have not tried it on x86 or amd64 yet with icedtea, perhaps that will need the java 7 version?

In any case, I hope this helps the community get this into the mainline, as it's a great little app.

Updated ebuilds

Ebuild snapshots from a local repo. Updated to follow upstream and make better use of USE flags. I am maintaining this local repo, and providing snapshots on the forums where someone is adding this to their overlay.

I have been keeping an ebuild going on the forums, and it was suggested I become a maintainer via proxy.

I'd be interested.

http://ivntheviking.bounceme.net/universalmediaserver.tar.xz is my local repo.

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8042604.html# is the forum post.

Great! Most people find it easiest to send a PR on github, and feel free to check out https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Proxy_Maintainers for more info.

Hi everybody!

I am also interested in this program, because the jellyfin portage program does not have as many features as universalmediaserver...

I would love for the universalmediaserver program to go to the Portage tree!
