Hello!

Is it possible to add net-mail/mailx as a RDEPEND option into app-admin/sxid ebuild? It seems that sxid runtime depends (when using a daily cron script) on /bin/mail (mailx). I had to emerge net-mail/mailx to make it work properly.

Also, how about adding a daily cron script into /etc/cron.daily, because, without daily checks, sxid is pretty useless ;) I have attached sxid.cron script :)

Added virtual/mta as a runtime dependancy.

As for cron, its up to the user to add cron tab entries to suit their needs. Gentoo packages don't change system behaviour by default. This can be undertaken without the wrapper script you provided. Looking at the crontab example providied in this package sxid can be called directly from cron. The user could provide a symlink in crondaily if they wanted.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Hello Daniel,

Long time :)))

I didn't mention (because I always emerge mailx), but it seems that virtual/mta as a runtime dependancy doesn't help - sxid cannot send an email message. How about adding virtual/mailx to this package? Adding virtual/mailx as a runtime dependancy to sxid solves all problems - all reports are sent correctly.
