Description Peter Westwood 2004-05-11 14:25:36 UTC
When generating a key pair an email address like "peter.westwood@ftwr.co.uk" is
not valid. However one like a.b@c.com is accepted looks like the function won't
accept more than one dot after the @ sign.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter email address with more than one dot after @
2. Click Generate Key pair
3.

Actual Results:
Msgbox appears telling me email address not valie

Expected Results:
Should have accepted email address

I have submitted a bug to the GPG plugin bugzilla here:
http://www.braverock.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=184

After spending some time grepping around I can't see a simple patch to the code
to make it work!

Reassed to eradicator@gentoo.org based on metadata.xml info for squirrelmail
Comment 2 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-05-11 21:59:03 UTC
I can look into this in about 2 weeks... youu might get a quicker response from the plugin developers themselves... sorry =(
Comment 3 Peter Westwood 2004-05-12 00:32:17 UTC
Ok Jeremy,

I will try to look into ore myself if i get some time this weekend. Hopefully a response will come from the developers first ;-).
Comment 4 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-31 18:17:29 UTC
were you ever able to get a fix from this upstream?
Comment 5 Peter Westwood 2004-08-02 04:12:44 UTC
Hi Jeremy,

No fix yet from upstream. Ugly work around was provided though. I have been using the plugin with a commandline generated key quite sucessfully though.

The Workaround:
This is an issue with the javascript checking on the email address. It's known
about, but hasn't been fixed yet. I'll update this bug when it is. For the
moment, an ugly fix wouldl be to disable javascript when you need to generate a key.

Cheers,

Comment 8 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-29 19:39:43 UTC
Definitely not fixed... There's another bug open on this.

Marking upstream again.
