If I play Neverputt (from games-puzzle/neverball) and I set the game to run at a higher resolution than I have my desktop running at, I cannot rotate 360 degrees around the ball (using left/right mouse movements). With the game running at the same or a lesser resolution than the desktop, it works fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge \>=games-puzzle/neverball (haven't tested any earlier) 2. Launch Neverputt 3. From the options screen, select a resolution which is higher than your current desktop resolution and start the game. Actual Results: Cannot rotate 360 degrees around the ball using left/right mouse movements. Expected Results: Allow unlimited rotation around the ball. uname -a: Linux desktop 2.6.5-gentoo-r1 #7 Sun Apr 25 21:41:49 SAST 2004 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2600+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 using nvidia-kernel & nvidia-glx 1.0.5336-r2. xfree 4.3.0-r7 emerge info:Portage 2.0.50-r6 (default-x86-2004.0, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.6.5-gentoo-r1) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.5-gentoo-r1 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2600+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.9 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.58-r1 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -m3dnow -msse -mfpmath=sse -mmmx -O3 -pipe -fforce-addr -fomit-frame-pointer -funroll-loops -frerun-cse-after-loop -frerun-loop-opt -falign-functions=4 -maccumulate-outgoing-args -ffast-math -fprefetch-loop-arrays" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control"CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/init.d /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -m3dnow -msse -mfpmath=sse -mmmx -O3 -pipe -fforce-addr -fomit-frame-pointer -funroll-loops -frerun-cse-after-loop -frerun-loop-opt -falign-functions=4 -maccumulate-outgoing-args -ffast-math -fprefetch-loop-arrays" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.is.co.za/mirror/gentoo.org/ ftp://ftp.rucus.ru.ac.za/pub/linux/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.up.ac.za/mirrors/gentoo.org/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage /usr/local/bmg-main" SYNC="rsync://rsync.rucus.ru.ac.za/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow X aalib acpi acpi4linux alsa apache2 apm audiofile avi berkdb cdr crypt cscope curl dga directfb doc dvd encode fbcon ffmpeg flac foomaticdb gd gdbm gif gpm gtk gtk2 icq imlib java javascript jpeg libg++ libwww lirc mad mikmod mmx mng motif mpeg mysql ncurses nls nocd nvidia offensive oggvorbis opengl oscar pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline sdl slang spell sse ssl stroke svga tcltk tcpd transcode truetype v4l vim-with-x x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib"
What version of neverball? I assume 1.2.5 but you didn't say.
Also, attach ~/.neverputtrc as text/plain please.
I first noticed it with 1.2.5 and then downgraded to 1.2.4 (emerge -C neverball && emerge =games-puzzle/neverball-1.2.4), which behaved the same way. I'll attach ~/.neverballrc tonight when I am at home.
Created attachment 31276 [details] ~/.neverballrc As requested / promised ...
Talked to upstream. He knows about it. Might fix it in the future. Marking UPSTREAM. Still happens in the latest release of the code.
