Description Tom Wijsman (TomWij) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2014-04-09 07:34:38 UTC
As per http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.gentoo.devel/90836
the mobile-phone herd has been dissolved into maintainer-needed; metadata.xml have been updated, herd has been removed from herds.xml and bugs have been reassigned (including removal from CC).

The only thing left to do, I think, is removal of their bugzilla / mail alias.

Thank you in advance.

mail list removed.

https://bugs.gentoo.org/buglist.cgi?emailassigned_to1=1&emailqa_contact1=1&emailtype1=exact&email1=mobile-phone%40gentoo.org

"mobile-phone@gentoo.org is the assignee or the QA contact of 257 bugs. If you delete the user account, these roles will fall back to the default assignee or default QA contact."

What is the default assignee for these bugs?

It would probably be a good idea to silently assign them to a responsive instance, in case it gets responded to or reopened due to a bug not being solved; that could be either maintainer-needed or bug-wranglers.

In terms of listening, the former I'm not sure if someone is listening; as for the latter, they go straight into one of my mail folders, which tracks RESOLVED bug-wranglers bugs.

In terms of reopening, it might be weird for bug-wranglers to see previously resolved bugs, whereas this is less likely to happen with maintainer-needed; so, in the end it boils down to picking one of both.

Maybe for maintainer-needed (or in general) we could look into creating a QA report of bugs that have been incorrectly assigned compared to the pkg metadata.

Well, depending on the component, it's mostly bug-wranglers.

There's no precedent for bugzilla users being removed or bugs being reassigned in this case (there's still bugs for utf8@g.o for instance).

The alias user is deactivated.
