give a try to liferea 0.4.8 ! it is working really fine for me, no weird bugs like in 0.4.7.

There is lifearea 0.4.9....

This worked for me with no problems during emerge, as well as changing the ebuild name to reflect 0.4.9.

HOWEVER, please note that liferea completely lost my feed list on upgrade.  I should have done an export to opml before upgrading (not that big a deal for me, but it will be for others with large feed lists).
