I get an "AttributeError: Distribution instance has no attribute 'namespace_packages'" in the build.log when trying to install dev-python/logilab-common. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge dev-python/logilab-common Actual Results: AttributeError: Distribution instance has no attribute 'namespace_packages' * ERROR: dev-python/logilab-common-0.58.1::gentoo failed (install phase): * Installation failed with CPython 2.7 in distutils_installation() function Expected Results: emerge success I posted to the forum my issue, system details, and steps performed. http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-984704-highlight-.html

24 Aug 2012; Patrick Lauer <patrick@gentoo.org> +logilab-common-0.58.1.ebuild is when this was added, and distutils_src_install reminds us it's using the the old eclass. Given 0.61.0 has just been made stable, I suspect logilab-common-0.58.1 is prone to be purged, not fixed. Do you really need this version?
