the ebuilds should add:

echo "CONFIG_EAP_PWD=y" >> ${CONFIG}

This has no additional dependencies and should not affect compile time significant. So it should be enabled per default as most other EAP config options.

This affects hostapd-2.0 and hostapd-2.1
