after upgradeing my gentoo linux kernel from 3.10.25 to 3.12.13 .I find that one of my Udisk is not able to mount. Using kernel 3.10.25 there's no problem.but my other 2 Udisks are able to use under 3.12.13,and 3.10.25. I don't know why, only the particular Udisk and gentoo 3.12.13 conflict.and the Udisk is able to use in Windows too.

after I boot my gentoo, and connect the Udisk, I can see it as /dev/sdc,sometimes I can see /dev/sdc1 too.but once I try to mount it , it stops and after some seconds reply "the device is busy",and then after some seconds, it says "the device doesn't exist." and I can't see /dev/sdc anymore.

I have reported it on gentoo forums yesterday , and one recommand me to report it here.
attachment is /usr/src/linux/.config lspci and dmesginformation.(it seems not all dmesg information from boot time) .if you need more information, just reply me ,my email double_crane@qq.com. thank you.

PS ,my USB device is ADATA S102 PRO 16G,with master innostor IS916.
lsusb PID/VID:
Bus 004 Device 003: ID 1f75:0916 Innostor Technology Corporation

in dmesg information,it says I/O error, sector XXXX,but I want to say that there's no problem with my Udisk ,I try to detect and fix it ,using several tools under windows. And the sector XXXX number always changed.

Looks like it's simply running out of power, or maybe it's a bus problem (cabling?).

I don't know.
but usinng kernel 3.10.XX and before is all OK.As I said, only 3.12.13 and the Udisk is not compatible.my other 2 Udisk in 3.12.13 ,or the Udisk in 3.10.25 are all right.
I connect these Udisks using the same socket.I have two usb socket(both USB3 and USB2 compatible). both are the same condition.

oh,maybe,my other 2 Udisks are both working under USB2.0 only.and my Udisk which can't work is both USB3.0 and USB2.0.
mayble the the bug is in XHCI USB 3.0 support ? what changed in XHCI support from 3.10.25 to 3.12.13?

Its been awhile, is this still an issue?
Comment 5 double_crane 2014-09-28 08:39:32 UTC
Now the kernel version in use is up to 3.14.14.

And this issue doesn't exist in it.

thank you.
