I was trying to use the newly leleased quagga-0.96.5 by just renaming the .ebuild, but could not, because of the following: ACCESS DENIED mkdir: /etc/quagga Looking in the ebuild, there are a few touch-ups to be done :-) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. cp /usr/portage/net-misc/quagga/quagga-0.96.{4-r4,5}.ebuild 2. emerge /usr/portage/net-misc/quagga/quagga-0.96.5.ebuild Actual Results: mkdir -p -- /var/tmp/portage/quagga-0.96.5/image//usr/sbin /bin/install -c zebra /var/tmp/portage/quagga-0.96.5/image//usr/sbin/zebra /bin/sh ../mkinstalldirs /etc/quagga mkdir -p -- /etc/quagga ACCESS DENIED mkdir: /etc/quagga mkdir: cannot create directory `/etc/quagga': Permission denied make[2]: *** [install-dist_examplesDATA] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/quagga-0.96.5/work/quagga-0.96.5/zebra' Expected Results: emerge the package --prefix=/usr is better written as --prefix=${D}/usr AFAIK There seem to be some changes in the --enable-exampledir option. Are the patches still needed?
