Description DJ Dunn 2014-03-28 21:02:44 UTC
!!! Couldn't download 'ut2004-v3369-3-linux-dedicated.7z'. Aborting.

its 404 on all the mirrors. found it here

http://www.utserver.de/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,33/func,startdown/id,26/

checksum comes out ok.

oh forget to mention was trying to emerge games-fps/ut2004
Comment 2 Ben Torkington 2014-07-27 22:49:03 UTC
Since it doesn't look like the URL in #1 can be used in the ebuild, what should happen here? Should the package have fetch restriction turned on and direct users to utserver.de to download it?
Comment 3 DJ Dunn 2014-07-27 23:09:50 UTC
It used to be on all the mirrors, Because as hard as it was to find, and it was 404 in other places too, id assum tthere was some reason it was all but removed from the internet. I don't know however.

best fix would be to reupload the file to master repo and let the mirrors populate. But without knowing the reason it was removed that may not be the most politically correct thing

I was hit by this during reinstallation. This needs to be resolved somehow. In the worst case by the fetch restriction.

updated the SRC_URI
Comment 6 Philipp Ammann 2016-08-11 19:03:18 UTC
Please reopen, 'ut2004-v3369-3-linux-dedicated.7z' is again (still?) unavailable.
Comment 7 Andre Burgoyne 2016-09-12 06:51:34 UTC
I can confirm that it is not currently working (404). The file seems to have disappeared from the internet :(
Comment 8 Luke Bratch 2016-09-12 06:54:38 UTC
I still have the file in my local distfiles. If I upload it to any old place, will that help? There may be some reason why it was removed.
Comment 9 DJ Dunn 2016-09-12 07:25:21 UTC
curiouser and curiouser

couldn't hurt luke, best case scenario a dev can upload it, worst case they just ask to take it down, midroad at least people can find the bug and then the file
Comment 10 Luke Bratch 2016-09-12 07:40:27 UTC
Here's a copy on my own server. You can pretty safely depend on it sticking around reliably.

Luke, thanks for the upload!

I don't know why this was reopened. It's happened again but there are new bug reports open now.
