I wanted my apps to overdraw the clip in the uppe left corner. So I switched the clip option from "Keep not on top" to "Keep on top" and back to "Keep not on top". Then when switching to other virtual desktops something will crash/hang and I am stuck to the specfic virutal desktop where I was last. No other apps can be launched, cause the menu will not be shown. If i remeber correct this also happend to me under Debian a while back, so it must be a WindowMaker issue. WindowMaker Version 0.80.2-r2 and -r3, both Versions behave the same. emerge info: portage 2.0.50-r6 (default-x86-2004.0, gcc-3.3.2, glibc-2.3.2-r9, 2.6.5-gentoo-r1) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.5-gentoo-r1 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2000+ Gentoo Base System version 1.4.10 Autoconf: sys-devel/autoconf-2.58-r1 Automake: sys-devel/automake-1.8.3 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-mcpu=athlon-xp -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -msse -mmmx -m3dnow -ffast-math" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-mcpu=athlon-xp -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -msse -mmmx -m3dnow -ffast-math" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs ccache sandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://212.219.247.15/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/ http://212.219.247.16/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/ http://ftp.snt.utwente.nl/pub/os/linux/gentoo http://212.219.247.19/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="3dnow X aalib alsa apm arts avi berkdb cdr crypt cups directfb encode esd foomaticdb gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 imlib java jpeg kde libg++ libwww mad mikmod mmx motif mpeg ncurses nls nptl oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline ruby sdl slang spell sse ssl svga tcltk tcpd tetex truetype x86 xml2 xmms xv zlib" Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
I think we can close this one. I deleted my ~/GNUstep dir and started from there again. Now, everything works fine.
I like it when they fix themselves.
