Is this still a problem? I just tried it and it worked fine for me. If you still experience issues, please post what you're using for X and opengl drivers please.
Yes, this is still a problem. I'm using Xfree86 4.3.0-r3 and glide-v3 3.10-r3
upgrade to the latest stable packages for both of those please. If that doesn't make a difference, try running it under strace and attach the output as text/plain. Thanks.

Try it with just the xfree opengl and see if that makes a difference. I suspect that there's something wrong with the glide stuff.
Reopen after giving that a try please.
