After doing an emerge clean i realized my previously installed evolution
wouldn't run because one of a missing libdb.so.2. So i re emerged db and all was
well. 

I don't believe berkely db is listed as an evolution dependency, but i could be
wrong. anyways somthign wasnt' right.

Yes db is needed by evolution and many other apps as well.
db is also in the evolution ebuild.
