i used to put versions of netbeans like beta and rc in tree but was told that i generally should not put there versions that won't go stable. anyway, in case you want to check the latest greatest features of netbeans, you can check my overlay (fordfrog overlay) for daily builds of netbeans. the final 8.0 release will be based on one of these.
