Description Ulrich Müller gentoo-dev 2014-02-22 20:00:43 UTC
The version currently in the tree is app-emacs/delicious-0.3-r1, corresponding to the last "official" release 0.3 from 2006. It doesn't with Emacs 24 at all.

The version from the upstream git repository at https://gitorious.org/delicious-el (commit 9e13d0a in master) doesn't seem to work either. Testing it today, I get the following if I try the "delicious-post" command:

   Contacting host: api.del.icio.us:443
   Opening TLS connection to `api.del.icio.us'...
   Opening TLS connection with `gnutls-cli --insecure -p 443 api.del.icio.us'...done
   Opening TLS connection to `api.del.icio.us'...done
   -: Search failed: "<!--"

Upstream has told me that the "dev" branch of the upstream repository would mostly work, with some remaining problems caused by the Delicious API (see the EmacsWiki page http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/DeliciousEl for details). A release of a new stable version is unlikely.

Given this whole situation, I believe that the sanest solution would be removal of the Gentoo package.

It doesn't *work* with Emacs 24 at all.
