With any version of qemu < 1.7.0, I got Machine Check Exceptions ("MCA: Internal parity error") on my Xeon E3 Haswell system running Windows SBS 2003 as a guest. It seems to be caused by the machine the older versions use (< pc-i440fx-1.7), cf. this discussion in the vmware community: https://communities.vmware.com/thread/452344 I built 1.7.0 (which includes the above machine and uses it as the default one) and the errors were gone. Probably, this problem has to be investigated itself, but at least, 1.7.0 built and runs without a problem here, so I suggest to add the ~amd64 keyword to this package.
Meanwhile, Qemu 1.7.1 is out ...
we have 2.0.0 in the tree & keyworded, and i think we'll drop older ones for security reasons, so let's not bother with older versions now
