I have failed to find any patch for porting it to bluez-5 and, then, this would be a candidate for removal once we stabilize bluez-5 in favor of bluez-4... not sure if a patch will arise for that at that time :| https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Bluez5#BlueZ_D-Bus_API
ArchLinux removed blueman from their repository because of this. I think we should lastrite it too. GNOME and KDE are covered fine, but since blueman doesn't work anymore, xfce-bluetooth might be suitable replacement (still in development): http://github.com/ncopa/xfce-bluetooth +1, CC treecleaner@ if you agree w/ removal
Blueman has branch for bluez-5 on github. https://github.com/blueman-project/blueman/compare/master...bluez5 Can anybody test this?
Just a note to add that this is also going to be required for bluetooth support under Mate desktop 1.8 as they've dumped the "mate-bluetooth" package. (See the release details @ http://www.mate-desktop.org/blog/2014-03-04-mate-1-8-released/) As Mate 1.6 is currently being mainlined into portage (and will presumably be bumped to 1.8 not long after that), it's probably best to keep this hanging around for now and wait for a release of the bluez5 supporting "blueman-2".

Created attachment 376432 [details] blueman developement ebuild for blueman5 with optional bluez5 use flag
The live ebuild works ok with bluez5, so no removal is needed... Additional info is available in bug #518992
we have git snapshots that work fine with bluez5 now.
