Description Benny Pedersen 2014-02-12 23:21:55 UTC
to save memory on the pi i like to see gentoo support this in future
Comment 1 Benny Pedersen 2014-02-12 23:23:05 UTC
its already done with freebsd, if it is possible with gentoo now give a link to it on how to build it

I do not see how Gentoo does not already support this. Could you expand on that?

http://www.spinics.net/linux/lists/linux-net/msg17710.html

reading this url tells me that kernel.org have no support for only networking with ipv6 yet, so ipv4 still needs to be compiled for ipv6 to work :(

still unsure here how to make it like freebsd do, hope its work in progress, and i know its plenty of work before it works, but it needs to start somewhere

so all i ask for is if its possible now, a working .config file that kickstart it, the rest should not be a problem in userland ?

If the upstream Linux kernel doesn't support it, then how is Gentoo Linux supposed to? Should the Gentoo project rewrite Linux?
