From livecd 2004.0 i am missing iptables on it. The idea is, that sometimes i or someone else install gentoo on a pc that works as a router, and so it is needed to masquerade an internal lan to bring it online.

zhen: put iptables in the default .spec template

roger55: OK, so I was wrong.  We should put the netfilter stuff back in the kernel for the LiveCD.  I would think we would only need base connection tracking, full nat, and masquerade support for ipv4.
