debug.log

Have /var/lib/bitcoin/ mounted as a 9p (network FS) share.

When trying to start bitcoind, I get the following error:
 * Starting Bitcoind daemon ...
 * start-stop-daemon: caught an interrupt
 * start-stop-daemon: /usr/bin/bitcoind died
 [ !! ]
 * ERROR: bitcoind failed to start

debug.log doesn't raise any eyebrows.

Have tried using tmpfs mount on /var/lib/bitcoin to find that everything works fine that way.

Could this be caused by something like file locking on a network share?
AFAIK 9p doesn't support them.

I'm cleaning up old bitcoin bugs. This is not really something we can support. bitcoin is IO intensive and not something you really want to run via a network filesystem.
